One of the most frequent questions the Aion team has heard from players during the beta events is, “What version is the North America and Europe game launching with?” We’re happy to announce today that Aion is planned to release with version 1.5, the third major game update, bringing the content as up to date as possible. The Aion team strives to keep the game content consistent between territories, and releasing with this game version brings us one step closer to this goal.

Stay tuned to the official web site for more details about version 1.5 and the release of Aion!

*twitch*

Raising the level cap is the most unimaginitive, cheap ass way of giving people more stuff to do. It's one of the major reasons why I disliked WoW (and all the other MMOs that raised their level cap)

If they raise the cap AND add meaningful content while keeping an eye class-balance I see no problem.

Yeah, they are not just raising the level cap. They will add more zones and content too.

problem is that once they raise the lvl cap all your gear becomes crap and you have to start farming all over again

Seriously?

Raising the level cap makes the past year of your life spent playing that game completely and utterly wasted. Everything you worked for - everything - is now obsolete. I for one don't like being fucked around.

What makes a good developer is managing to release new content and keep players fixated and occupied without raising the level cap. In my eyes, that is literally the cheapest thing you can do as a developer, as it's compulsary.

In however many years DAoC was alive, they didn't raise the level cap once.

No, they put 10 levels on every piece of gear you wanted in an expansion instead lol

Same. in WoW case, its just stupid way to open a way into the game for thousands on new players. Players, who wouldnt start playing, because they wouldnt catch up to those playing it for years already. Plus the psycho effect on the current players... new content, you wet dreams coming true (omg new skills, locations). I hate it.
Thats the only thing I love about WAR - they dont increase level cap. On the other hand, that may be only because the devs suck so hard, that they are unable to create so much new content needed for doing this.
